I’ve always loved this anthem…
November 11th, 2009 at 4:31 pmWe have a Canadian boarding school in the area and every year there is an article about remembrance day. They go to the Moro River Canadian War Cemetary in Ortona (about 15 minutes from where i live) and they have a beautiful ceremony. Living in a country where many lives were sacrificed to restore the freedom of the inhabitants really drives the message home.
Is it intentional or coincidence that Remembrance Day and Veterans Day or the same date? I would think intentional. God bless those who served and those who died serving.
November 11th, 2009 at 8:28 pmTerry, yes, it’s intentional. The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month… signifies the “official” end of World War I in 1918, when the Germans signed the Armistice.
