“No comments” eh? Shall I be the first? lol

    Um.. no comment.

Oh, alright.. that beaver tail looks like what we call fried dough, and I suppose it’s similar to what others call funnel cakes. At any rate, I can well picture apple pie filling on it.

Are you sure it’s a sweet? we call them “coccodrillo”(crocodile)..white pizza dough , which you split apart and fill with all kinds of lunchmeat.

I’ve been wondering about Owen, too — am very worried. I left comments over there, but haven’t seen anything yet, unless something has been said today…

Oh, they are sweet; very sweet. The one pictured here is sugar and cinnamon. They’re an Ottawa trademark, and I believe they made a special new one named for Mr. O. He surprised everybody; after the meetings and press conference were over, he had his people drive him over to our famous outdoor market, the Byward Market, so he could get a beavertail. It was totally unexpected. He was also looking for something for his wife, one of those round glass things you turn upside down then back over and it’s snowing inside. In French it’s called boule de neige (like snowball), but the name in English escapes me at the moment. Anyway, they only allowed him a few minutes on the market, so he didn’t have enough time to find one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if quite a few Cdns. will be mailing him one, but whether they would be allowed to reach him, I don’t know.

No, I haven’t heard anything from or about Owen either, and it’s very worrying, but I’m sure he knows we’re all keeping him in our prayers.

Yes, Mr. O appears quite normal. Most sociopaths do.

We call the snow-things “snow globes.” Poor Owen – I’d like to send him one.

Carol, yes! That’s the word I was looking for! (Snow globe, not sociopath). ;)

Cathy, well thank goodness Lent is upon us, to help CURB the CARB situation. I think you’re in good company here!
