The Big Melt
Yes, the meltdown in the backyard has begun, and just in time. There was really nowhere else to put that gorgeous white stuff anymore.

WOW!!! I’ve never seen anything like it! You need a truck to move it out of there!
April 11th, 2008 at 3:51 pmAlas, we are dependent on the sunshine and the April showers. I’m hoping it will all be gone by August.
April 11th, 2008 at 4:23 pmI can only imagine what it must be like to have THAT MUCH snow to shovel! Thank goodness that you have strong young (eager) sons to do it!
Here, in Eastern North Carolina, we have POLLEN….green and yellow, and SO THICK, that I have to sweep it off the porch each day (kinda like snow)….guess we are a few weeks ahead of you, in the “changing of the seasons”.
Just checking in, before I take the computer down, and put it back up at the new house (the good Lord willing….since my “technical skills” are certainly “limited”), sometime in the next couple of days. Hoped I might find a small bit of encouragement and a smile, by stopping by to “visit”. And sure enough, I did.
Keep us in your prayers, please. That God will give us the sanity and the strength to complete this supreme endeavor (ordeal? challenge? no, blessing…).
If you ever come down to our part of the world, Gabrielle, now you will have some place to rest your head!
God bless you this day, my friend in the Great White North…
(((hugs)))
April 11th, 2008 at 5:30 pmYIKES, Gabrielle !
April 12th, 2008 at 9:46 amMy lilac bushes have leaves and the forsythia is starting to bloom across the street. Crocus plants are pushing up all ’round the neighborhood, ….. And….we are getting lots and lots of rainy days.
Although I was born for the poles and love the cold, don’t send any snow southward, Gab.
lol it’s so beautiful the snow and plentiful, and soon you will see the lovely green earth beneath.
April 13th, 2008 at 8:14 amKristin, well, one son’s out west and has to take care of his own snow! But I must admit to being very proud of the sixteen-year-old, who not only had our snow to contend with, but two customers for pocket-money (earned more than pocket-money this year, let me tell you.) We haven’t had this much snow since 1971, they say. It’s so strange; last year we had hardly any. You’re in my thoughts re the big move, Kristin; pray all goes well! Thank you for your sweet offer about having a place to lay my head (hopefully you didn’t mean in the pollen).
oh, teresa, it gives the heart such a lift to see everything starting to grow, doesn’t it. You’re weeks ahead of us, but I live in anticipation…
mc, plentiful it is! I guess it will take a while to see any green though, but everything in its own good time!
April 14th, 2008 at 12:43 amI have never seen so much snow in one place!
In 1996, we had so much snow in Philadelphia that they had to plow it into the river. Still, I don’t recall snowdrifts this size!
I know you will be glad when spring arrives!
April 15th, 2008 at 11:18 pmHey, Judith, how are you! Well, that’s not exactly a drift…that’s from shovelling the path to the shed. Like we really needed a path to the shed, to do what? Stare at the bicycles we can’t use?
